What you’ll do:
Reporting to the VP of Client & Business Services, this role is responsible for staffing, training, developing, supervising, and directing event planners on their execution of both small- and large-scale events. This role ensures that the team executes and delivers on events by meeting and exceeding the client’s expectations. With a strong focus on team management and client success, you will serve as a key liaison between clients, staff, and management, to oversee the success of our events from inception to completion.
How you’ll do it:
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT AND DIRECTION
Oversees the work (deadlines, deliverables, and tangibles) of the Event Planner team.
With a deep understanding of profitability and skillsets, appropriately staffs each event with a lead planner.
Appropriately engages, trains, develops and inspires the event planning team; ensuring that individual performance, attendance, and goals are appropriately monitored.
Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure alignment, facilitate communication, and drive projects forward by coordinating tasks, resolving roadblocks and maintaining momentum.
Sets regular 1:1 reviews with planners going over key planning documents such as the event critical path, budget, vendor contracts and reports providing consultation and guidance when necessary.
Handles day-to-day employee issues including attendance and conflict resolution; escalating to the VP or CEO when necessary.
Works closely with the VP and CEO to onboard new staff, arrange training and develop training when necessary.
CLIENT RELATIONSHIPS
Proactively builds relationships with clients from onboarding and beyond to ensure that communication is open and consistent.
As the first escalation point for clients, this role is responsible for problem solving in a way that seeks permanent resolution and client satisfaction.
With diligence and care, participates in client quarterly check-ins and ensures scope of work targets are being met and resolves any client issues shared.
Builds quarterly business reports, ensuring key information and deliverables are met for clients and a summary analysis shared.
From time-to-time, may be required to attend calls/board meetings/events etc. for complex or high-profile events.
Works closely with the VP to identify, navigate, and resolve at risk clients.
Works closely with implementation for new clients and executes on the client onboarding process, supporting to enroll planners and ensure a seamless kick-off process.
EVENT LEADERSHIP
Works closely with the event planners to provide consultative leadership and oversight over complex or high profile events including vision, planning, strategy and coordination.
On the rare occasion, attends high profile/complex events and provides direction, instruction, and client oversight.
Proactively anticipates and mitigates risk; providing guidance and support to Planners.
On occasion, represents Redstone at industry events and conferences utilizing these as networking opportunities to build relationships, stay informed on trends, and strengthen the company’s presence in the AMC and event community.
You’ll thrive in this role if:
You have a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, Communications, Not-for-Profit Management, or a related field.
You have 7-10+ years of relevant, full-scope event planning experience which includes planning, executing, and delivering on complex, large scale, high attendee conferences and events.
You have experience leading, managing, and/or coaching others.
Serious bonus points if:
You have a Digital Event Strategist (DES), Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), or a similar event designation is an asset.
You have experience working with not-for-profits, association management companies, or agencies is considered an asset.
Compensation:
We believe in fair, transparent, and growth-focused compensation. Our salary bands are designed to ensure equity across roles (and internally), with most new hires starting at the lower end to allow room for development and progression. That said, we recognize and reward experience—strong, seasoned candidates may start higher within the band.
Starting salary: $90,000 - $100,000.
